Subject: OCSEA elections

For the first time, OCSEA will be conducting an online election for members to our Representative Council for the term July 1, 2011- June 30, 2013.

This election will take place between May 3, 2011 May 13, 2011 (11:45 PM).

You will be voting by division- divisions noted in our bylaws are: Alternative Ed, Special Schools, and OCCS. Only active members of the Orange County Schools Educators Association (OCSEA) will have access to the voting site. You will need your CTA membership number to vote. This number is right below you name on your CTA membership card and is on the label of the California Educator magazine that every member receives monthly.

If you can't locate your number, email me with your name and phone number. For security, I will call you back and give you your number. I will not send it by email nor will I leave numbers on voicemail.

Here is the procedure to follow:
Go to http://votingplace.net/myocsea. [corrected address]
Click "Click here to vote" button
Follow the prompts on the screen. You will be asked for your CTA number. Enter that number.
[Don't put in the first zeros of your membership number when voting]
You will only see a ballot for your division- Alt. Ed, Spec Schools, OCCS
Read the directions at the top of the ballot for the number of candidates for which you may vote.
(It is based on 1 rep for every 20 unit members so it is different for each division)
Click in the box for the candidates for whom you wish to vote.
Submit your ballot. You will see a message stating that your vote has been received successfully

That's all.... The secure website will tally all the votes cast during the open voting timeframe. All voting results will be sent from the site anonymously, your number will not be attached to your vote. If you choose not to vote electronically, you may place a paper vote by coming to the CTA office in Orange on May 16.

Thanks for being a part of this new opportunity for OCSEA elections.
